HOUSTON: Exxon Mobil Corp plans to keep its 517,700 barrel-per-day (bpd) Baton Rouge, Louisiana, refinery in operation through the passage of Hurricane Zeta across southeast Louisiana, sources familiar with plant operations said on Tuesday.

Zeta is currently forecast to pass on-shore 110 miles (177 km) southeast of the refinery, which remains on the western edge of computer models for the hurricane's path. Exxon may change its plans if the forecast changes, the sources said.

Exxon spokesman Jeremy Eikenberry said the company is monitoring Hurricane Zeta and operations were normal on Tuesday at the Baton Rouge refinery.
