Parwaaz Hai Junoon will be first Pakistani film to screen in China in decades

The first Pakistani movie to screen in mainland China will be 2018 action film Parwaaz Hai Junoon, which will begin showing in cinemas in November.

The move comes ahead of the 70th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan in 2021.

Starring Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahad Raza Mir and Hania Aamir, Parwaaz Hai Junoon tells the story of young cadets striving to be fighter pilots and features the JF-17 fighter jet developed jointly by Pakistan and China. The film got a positive reception upon its release and is one of the highest grossing Pakistani films of all time.

β€œIn a historic development for Pakistani films, Parwaaz Hai Junoon, starring Hamza Ali Abbasi, Hania Amir, and Ahad Raza Mir in lead roles is all set to release in China on November 13, 2020,” read a statement.
