1.6 million people to avail loan facility on easy terms

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has said that loans of Rs 30 billion will be given to more than 1.6 million people on soft terms.

The Chief Minister directed to inspect the fire safety arrangements in high rise buildings, plazas, shopping malls across the province and called for a final plan to repair the damage caused by the fire at Hafeez Center.

An agreement was signed between Punjab Small Industries Corporation and Bank of Punjab regarding the Punjab Employment Scheme in the Chief Minister's Office.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that loans of Rs 30 billion would be given at a very low rate to 1.6 million people including women, transgender. Apart from ordinary people, small businessmen will also be able to get loans, which will boost the cottage industry.

On the other hand, the Chief Minister while issuing instructions for checking fire safety arrangements in high-rise buildings said that the management of large buildings would be responsible for installing the firefighting systems in the buildings.

The Chief Minister directed to set up a mechanism in three days to compensate the traders for the losses incurred due to the fire at Hafeez Center.
