NAB board approves another reference against Nawaz Sharif

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday approved another graft reference against Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Chief Nawaz Sharif.

The executive board meeting headed by NAB (retd) Justice Javed Iqbal, passed the reference against Nawaz Sharif for illegal use of bullet-proof vehicles.

Nawaz’s assistants Fawad Hassan Fawad and Afaq Sultan are also named in the case, which involves the illegal use of 73 security cars. This caused a loss of Rs1.75 billion to the national exchequer.

Former director general Aftab Sultan, former ambassador Aitzaz Chaudhry and Fawad Hassan Fawad have also been named in the reference.

The accountability watch-dog also approved an accountability reference against former federal secretary of interior Shahid Khan.

Moreover, the executive board approved a corruption reference against former chairman NPF Mohammad Rafique Hassan and other accused.

The board also approved reference against the officials of the Punjab Sports Board, former D.G. Sports Usman Anwar, Wilayat Ali Shah and others.

An investigation into a corruption case against former law minister Rana Sanaullah was also approved. Corruption investigations against several other leaders have also been approved.
