KARACHI: Faisal Moiz Khan, president of the North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKATI), has urged Prime Minister Imran Khan to defer audits of Employees Old Age Benefit Institution (EOBI) for at least two years in view of the severe economic crisis caused by COVID-19.
In an appeal, the NKATI president said that a large number of audit notices were being received by the industrialists from the EOBI, and the industrialists were being harassed in the factories which should be taken immediate notice of.
"Due to prolonged lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic, industries remained closed for several months and now production activities in the industries are gradually restoring," he added. Despite the country's severe economic crisis, the industrial community was struggling to survive and resume normal industrial activities.
