Sir Syed Ahmed Khan remembered

KARACHI: The rich tributes were paid to the great visionary and reformer of the subcontinent Sir Syed Ahmed Khan at his 203rd birth anniversary, observed under the aegis of Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys' Association (AMUOBA) and Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) at the campus.

Speaking on the auspicious occasion, the chief guest, former commissioner and the famous orator Shafiq Paracha said Sir Syed Ahmed Khan is a symbol of revolution and modernization. Urdu language was the main driving force behind the bi-nation theory that was first presented by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan.

Addressing the seminar, president AMUOBA and SSUET Chancellor Jawaid Anwar said Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was the great educator and Islamic reformer. He pioneered modern education for Muslim community.

He also expressed the deep sorrow for the sad demise of the former vice chancellor of Sir Syed University, Prof Dr Syed Jawaid H Rizvi who passed away a day before.
