Coronavirus claims six more lives with 632 new cases across country

(Karachi) At least six people died of coronavirus during the last 24 hours across the country, according to National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). The total number of casualties from the disease has reached 6,513.

As per details, 632 new COVID-19 cases have been reported while 298,968 patients recovered from the virus across the country. The total count of infections reported in Pakistan was 314,616.

Meanwhile, 33,725 tests have been conducted in 24 hours while 513 patients are admitted to different hospitals. Of them, condition of two patients is critical.

The most number of cases were reported in Sindh with 138,050 patients followed by Punjab with more than 99,812 cases. Similarly, 37, 973 coronavirus cases surfaced in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 16, 766 in Islamabad and 15,371 in Balochistan.

Earlier, authorities in Karachi sealed two wedding halls and 41 eateries for violating the coronavirus SOPs. Of the 41 sealed eateries, four are located in District South, 11 in East, two in West, three in Central, 12 in Malir and nine in District Korangi.

Seven shops, factories and pharmacies were sealed too over SOP violations. Their owners were fined Rs130,000.

The development comes after resurgence of coronavirus cases in the city. It has prompted the authorities to place several virus hotspots under micro smart lockdown for two weeks.
