PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) showed 33% growth rate in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2020-21, taking its revenue collection figures to Rs4.33 billion compared to last fiscal year's collection of Rs3.26 billion.

The KPRA collected Rs4.03 billion on account of sales tax on services while Rs299 million was collected from the Infrastructure Development Cess (IDC) in the first three months of the current fiscal year.

According to a KPRA press release issued here on Friday, the authority had collected Rs3.22 billion revenue on account of sales tax on services and Rs40 million from the IDS in the first quarter of the last fiscal year which shows a 33% growth on quarter-to-quarter basis in the current fiscal year compared with last year's.

The Director-General of KPRA, Fayyaz Ali Shah, called it a step towards realization of KPRA's goal of making the province fiscally self-reliant. He said the KPRA managed to give exceptional performance despite the devastating impact of COVID-19 on the overall economy of the country and particularly on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's economy.
