(Karachi) Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that there is no threat to government from opposition's anti-state movement. He added the opposition is targeting state institutions, especially the army because it catches their corruption.

Chairing a meeting of government spokespersons and party leaders in Islamabad on Friday, he said that the nation stands with the institutions and both the government and military are on the same page.

He pointed out that the army is with the democratic government within the constitutional limits. He said the enemies of the armed forces are the enemies of the country.

“The government will defend its institutions and will jointly foil the Indian conspiracy with the support of masses,” PM Imran Khan said and directed the party leaders to mobilize for the cause.

He said that the opposition would not get a NRO and their only issue is that they are neither getting a deal nor dheel (leniency). “I know the conspirators behind this Indian bid to create a political disturbance in the country,” he said but vowed to counter the Indian narrative with full force.

On the occasion, the PM directed the spokespersons and party leaders to expose the negative statements of the opposition. He said PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and India are hatching a conspiracy to weaken country's institutions. Imran stated that Nawaz Sharif is following Modi government’s statement and defaming the country.

Meanwhile, the meeting discussed the current political situation, government strategy and the opposition’s anti-government movement. The participants were briefed on government measures related to Nawaz Sharif’s repatriation.
