According to Investopedia, Import substitution industrialization (ISI) is a theory of economics typically adhered to by developing countries or emerging market nations that seek to decrease their dependence on developed countries. But what I want to say through this letter to the newspaper is that the Business Recorder op-ed writer Bakhtiyar Kazmi has a very subtle sense of humour. He started his argument in his latest article for the newspaper headlined "Import substitution" by making it clear to newspaper readers that "the abbreviation ISI was dreamt up by Investopedia and is the product of their imagination. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or to actual events or any organization is purely coincidental, and I had nothing to do with it!" This reminds me of what American actor, comedian, writer, director, political commentator and television host Jon Stewart had once famously said: "People's sense of humour tend to go about as far as their ideology". In my view, Kazmi sahib has the ability to restore readers' 'sanity' and make them laugh. I truly meant no offence.
