KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday reserved the verdict in the petition of Pak Sarzmaeen Party (PSP), challenging the results of general elections 2018 in Karachi.

The PSP in a petition alleged that results of elections in Karachi were manipulated and submitted the results were given to candidates three days after the polling. The PSP made Election Commission of Pakistan and others respondents in the petition.

The court asked the petitioner's counsel why they have not approached the ECP about the results of seats in Karachi. Later, the court reserved the judgment. Meanwhile, a division bench of the SHC ordered to remove the name of wife of Sharjeel Memon, member of Sindh Assembly from Exit Control List (ECL).

Sharjeel's wife filed a petition in the SHC to have her name removed from EC which the SHC accepted for hearing. She is being investigated in the corruption case against her husband.

Justice K K Agha of the SHC that wife of Sharjeel Memon was not the main suspect in the case and has not been indicted. He ordered that her name should be removed from the ECL to travel abroad from September 22 to October 02, 2020. Sharjeel's wife contended that she has a business in Dubai and needs travelling abroad.
