LAHORE: The Rashakai Special Economic Zone (RSEZ) will serve as a bridging-post in northern areas of KPK and the Afghan border while the project location will open new vistas for development of marble processing, furniture and pharmaceuticals.

Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) President Zarak Khan stated this while addressing the economic review meeting held on Thursday. He said that the project would also serve as a hub for promoting people to people trade relations in the region.

He stressed the need for having regular meeting with the stakeholders to fast track the progress on Rashakhai Special Economic Zone as it would play a pivotal role in Pakistan's Economic Growth and will provide job opportunities for the people of remote areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He pointed out that PCJCCI had always stressing upon the regional connectivity and bilateral trade among the friendly neighbors in the region and will now provide maximum support in making Rashakai Special Economic Zone (REZ) a success.

The industries related to fruit, food, packaging, textile, stitching, knitting from China will also help introduce new contemporary techniques and innovative ideas in the area, he added.
