Healthcare establishments: Collaborative action plan across Sindh initiated

KARACHI: Sindh Healthcare Commission under the supervision of Acting CEO, Dr Farhana Memon has initiated collaborative action plan across Sindh for registration of Healthcare Establishments, wherein multiple training sessions for general practitioners, HCEs, Hakeems along with inspections for unregistered HCEs, and field visits by Anti-quackery and inspection team were conducted.

Field teams have fined 13 unregistered HCEs so far and the process will continue as a routine activity.

Acting CEO, Dr Farhana Memon visited training session arranged in Hyderabad. In this training session participants from hospital clinics and Hakeems of Hyderabad division were present. 30 participants from each category were invited to attend hands on trainings on SSDS hospitals, SSDS PHC/Clinics and MSDS Tibbe e Unani.

CEO SHCC, emphasised the HCPs to apply for provisional licences and maintain quality services. In the training Directorates of Licensing & Accreditation, Complaints and Anti-quackery gave briefing on their respective areas. The session ended with certificates distribution by the CEO SHCC, Dr Farhana Memon to participants. A meeting with DG Health was also conveyed by SHCC, where CEO SHCC appreciated the support of health department & put emphasis on registration of all govt health facilities.

Further, Directorate of Anti-quackery sealed 3,547 clinics run by quacks and warned 1955 HCEs till date. The team visited 6,515 HCEs. Directorate of Licensing & Accreditation, SHCC received 33 new applications for registration in this week. Till date total number of application for registration received are 10,974. Registration Certificate were issued to 14 HCEs in the current week bringing total number of registration certificates issued to 9841 HCEs. Till date 239 provincial licenses were issued to different HCEs.

Directorate of Complaint, SHCC received till date total 140 complaints out of which 100 complaints are disposed of, 30 complaints are under process while 8 are sub-judice.
