ISLAMABAD: The Directorate General Trade Organisation (DGTO), Ministry of Commerce has been requested to hold elections of Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) due to controversial role of incumbent Secretary. In a petition to DGTO, one of the members, Atta Muhammad Chaudhry mentioned that chamber elections scheduled to be held on September 19 and September 20, 2020.

Chuadhry, in his petition has said that the role of Chamber's Secretary is discriminatory and he would not allow elections in a transparent manner, requesting Ministry to send its own official to monitor elections.
