LAHORE: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP)'s Chief Manager Javaid Iqbal Marth on Thursday said the State Bank is launching Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) complaint portal on SBP website.

While speaking at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), he said the complaints will directly reach SBP governor, chief manager, deputy managers and other officials.

He further added that the complainants would be able to track the progress on their complaints through unique complaint number.

He informed the LCCI members that SME clinics will be started to provide awareness to SMEs regarding different banking products for their utilization.

LCCI President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh said the SME sector is neglected in bank financing.

The share of SME sector in bank financing should be increased as this sector needs more support and financing to carry on their business activities.

The initiative of Rozgar Scheme for Salaries & Wages announced by State Bank of Pakistan to facilitate the business community in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak is a positive step.

The LCCI is using all its channels to spread awareness about this scheme among its members and hopefully more and more representatives of private sector will benefit from it.

He said that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) help desk is being discussed and hopefully it would be established in the LCCI under 'One Window Smart Services' for facilitation its members.
