Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that it is not the media that needs protection, but the current government needs protection from the 'blatant propaganda' that has taken place against it.

In an interview with Aljazeera TV today, the PM was asked about freedom of the press. He said over the years, his government is the first one to be criticized and be the target of blatant propaganda. "It is us, the government and its ministers who feel unprotected. It is not the media," the PM said.

While speaking about the government's relations with the military, the PM said that they have the most 'harmonious relationship'."We have complete coordination, we work together, the military completely stands with all the government's democratic policies," PM said.

While talking about the coronavirus pandemic, the PM said the number of cases was declining in Pakistan due to the government's smart decisions. He said they did not impose lockdown as England and other countries did. But, 'we imposed smart lockdown, targeting hotspots', the premier added.

About Pakistan's relations with Saudi Arabia, the PM said the kingdom will always be a friend of Pakistan. However, he said, he wants the OIC to take a front-role when it comes to the issue of Indian-occupied Kashmir.

When asked if Pakistan was resetting its ties with the United States, PM asked why it has to be an 'either', 'or' formula. "Why does Pakistan have to be in any camp? Every country looks to its own interest. Why can't we have good relations with everyone," PM Imran wondered.
