Covid-19: Surge in fatalities witnessed as 18 more die

ISLAMABAD: The country witnessed a surge in fatalities from coronavirus as the number has increased to 6,318, as 18 more deaths were reported during the last 24 hours.

The number of positive cases has reached 296,590, according to the latest figures released by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC).

The data further revealed that 441 persons had been tested positive for the Covid-19 in 24 hours, whereas 20,480 tests were conducted nationwide.

Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by the Punjab, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad.

Till now, 129,615 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 96,921 in Punjab, 36,265 in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 15,666 in Islamabad, 12,899 in Balochistan, 2,302 in Azad Kashmir, and 2,922 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Furthermore, 2,409 individuals have lost their lives to the pandemic in Sindh, 2,204 in the Punjab, 1,255 in the KP, 141 in Balochistan, 175 in Islamabad, 71 in the GB, and 63 in Azad Kashmir.

Pakistan has so far conducted 2,662,508 coronavirus tests, and 20,480 tests in the last 24 hours.
