Tharparkar DC requests NGOs to help rain-hit people

HYDERABAD: The Deputy Commissioner Tharparkar Muhammad Nawaz Sohoo has said that Non-Government Organisations (NGO) that are working in the District Tharparkar should come forward to help out, as service to humanity, people of the rain affected areas of the District Tharparkar. This he said while presiding over the meeting at Darbar Hall Mithi with the representatives of NGOs.

DC further said that this is the time to serve the affected people on a humanitarian basis for that those NGOs who are working on food would provide 10 thousand ration bags in support to help out the rain affected people and all the NGOs should make sure the quality of ration.

He said that while those NGOs that are working in health sector should work with the teams of Health Department for providing the health facilities to the people in the rain affected areas and other sector NGOs should provide the logistic support in this regard.

Deputy Commissioner Tharparkar stress upon the representatives of NGOs to remain in close contact with the control room of district administration in this critical situation so that relief activities could be carried out in proper manner. He also directed the Additional Director Social Welfare Department Tharparkar Natho Khan Rahimon to make a sector wise collective program of responsibility for NGOs so that no difficulty would be faced in this regard. On this occasion all the NGOs assured to help out.

District Health Officer Tharparkar Dr Gordhan Das, Deputy Director Social welfare Maljimal Rathore, Representatives of HANDS, Shifa Foundation, Sukkar Foundation, Sami Foundation, Banh Beli, PVDP and other NGOs participated in the meeting.
