Punjab sports policy in its final stage: minister

LAHORE: The Punjab government is collaborating with the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) for the revival of the game of hockey and in this regard, hockey academies are being planned in different cities of the province.

Punjab Minister for Sports Rai Taimoor Khan Bhatti said, "Hockey is our national game. Our youth have plenty of hockey talent, and we are making stringent measures to polish that talent. We are confident that our talented youth will help us a lot in regaining our lost hockey glory."

He said, "We are going to take another revolutionary step in the shape of Sports School project at Nishtar Park Sports Complex; young talented players will be given modern sports training besides providing them with the best education at Sports School."

When asked about Punjab sports policy, the minister said that the policy was in its final stages. This policy would play a key role in enhancing the interest of youth in sports activities. He said that sports culture would flourish at schools and colleges.
