Ali Tareen questions Shan Masood's exclusion from Pakistan T20I squad

Updated 22 Aug, 2020

Multan Sultans' co-owner Ali Tareen has questioned opening batsman Shan Masood’s exclusion from Pakistan’s T20I squad for England series, despite being one of the top performer in now postponed Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020.

Pakistan selection committee on Friday shortlisted 17-member squad for the three-match Twenty20 International series against England starting later this month.

Following the announcement, Ali Tareen expressed his disappointment in a tweet stating that Multan Sultan captain (Shan Masood) deserve to be in the squad.

“How is Shan Masood not in the squad! He was the 3rd highest Pakistani run-scorer in the PSL, at a strike rate higher than Babar Azam. He captained a team from 5th to 1st. Ridiculous that he's not even in the squad!” Tareen tweeted.

The Babar Azam-led team will play Eoin Morgan’s England at Old Trafford, Manchester, from 28 August to 1 September.
