Shah Mahmood Qureshi leaves for China

  • He will lead Pakistan side in the second round of the China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi departed for Hainan, China on Thursday on a two-day visit.

The foreign minister is visiting the neighboring country to take part in the China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue. The first meeting took place last year in March.

According to a statement by the Foreign Office (FO), the FM will lead Pakistan side in the second round of the China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue. State Councilor and Foreign Minster Wang Yi will lead the Chinese side.

During the meeting, both sides will discuss bilateral relations, regional and international issues of mutual interest. They will also discuss coronavirus pandemic.

"The visit will play an important role in further strengthening Pakistan-China “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” and deepen strategic communication and coordination with China on a range of issues," the FO statement said.
