Taking notice of some private schools reopening in Karachi today, Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani has ordered strict action to be taken against them.

Some schools were reopened today following an announcement by the Private Schools Association which rejected the government’s September 15 reopening date. The education minister said they will not allow anyone to challenge the government’s writ, nor allow anyone to play with the lives of the children.

Ghani has asked officials to submit a report on the schools that had reopened. He said the schools which reopened today will have their registrations canceled, local media reported.

Last week, while chairing a meeting, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that education institutions will reopen on September 15 after the provincial government reviews the coronavirus situation.

So far, Sindh has recorded 126,182 coronavirus cases and 2,322 deaths.
