LAHORE: Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has announced opening of the sacred Christian site Mariamabad for international tourism. While addressing a seminar in Governor House on National Minority Day, the governor said that we will introduce a quota for religious minorities in public-sector jobs.

Despite tension with India, Prime Minister Imran Khan has fulfilled his promise of completing the Kartarpur project and opened it for Sikhs from across the world including India, he said, adding: "Our government is ensuring the safety of minority's rights in Pakistan."

The governor said that we are protecting the rights of all religious minorities and providing them with religious freedom. Minorities enjoy equal rights and all facilities in Pakistan and we are striving to achieve the dream of progressive Pakistan, he added. He said that the world is a witness to the oppression and atrocities that minorities in India are facing today.

The Fascist Modi regime is targeting innocent Muslims in India as well as Kashmir. He said that the violence on Muslims and burning their homes is no less than terrorism.
