Covid-19 cases: Following of SOPs essential for maintaining improvement

ISLAMABAD: The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases has significantly declined in the federal capital but gross violation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) framed to prevent spread of the virus in various markets may again deteriorate the situation.

In a visit to various markets and public places, gross violation of coronavirus SOPs were observed.

Due to poor check by the district administration, public were not seen wearing face masks or practicing social distancing necessary to control the spread of the Covid-19.

As per the official data, the coronavirus positive rate remained at one percent on Tuesday as only 20 new cases emerged in the city.

The tally of confirmed positive cases rose to 15,281 after 20 new cases, it says.

As many as 12,995 people have completely recovered, and 171 have died, since the outbreak of the virus.

The total active cases in the city are 2,286, it says.

Out of total active cases, 187 are in Sector G-8, 146 in Lohi Bher, 104 in Sector I-8, 101 in Sector G-9, 82 in Sector G-6, 80 in Sector G-7, 79 in Tarlai, 75 in Bhara Kahu, 75 in Sector G-10, 64 in Sector I-10, 53 in Khana Pul, 51 each in Sector F-11 and Sector G-11, 46 in Chak Sehzad, 44 in Sector F-6, 43 in Sohan, 42 in Sector F-7, 39 in Rawat, 38 in Sector F-8, and 37 in Sector E-11.

Similarly, 31 each in Sector I-9 and Kurri, 23 each in Sector F-10 and G-15, 21 in Koral, 19 in E-9, 18 in Sector G-5, 12 each in Shah Allah Ditta and Tarnol, 11 each in Sector F-5 and Model Town Homak, and 10 in Sector H-13.

The data says that the new cases reported on August 10 were 20, August 9, 27, August 8, 32, August 7, 41, August 6, 19, on August 5, 27, on August 4, 19, on August 3, 24, on August 2, 19, on August 1, 19, on July 31, 27, on July 30, 24, on July 29, 25, on July 28, 54, on July 27, 43, on July 26, 20, July 25, 55, July 24, 44, July 23, 21, July 22, 76, on July 21, 26, on July 20, 23, July 19, 72, on July 18, 50 and on July 17, 52.
