(Karachi) The Supreme Court of Pakistan has ordered the removal of all kinds of billboards from Karachi.

The Supreme Court had taken notice of the injuries to citizens due to falling billboards in the city. The hearing comes days after a video clip went viral showing two motorcyclists hit and injured by a billboard during heavy rainfall in the city.

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Gulzar Ahmed, while hearing a case against illegal billboards, said that Sindh chief minister of Sindh only makes air visits on helicopter and does not do anything practical.

The CJP maintained that buildings on Shahrah-e-Faisal are covered with billboards and it is job of government to enforce building plan but there seems to be no government of any sort in the city.

Meanwhile, the top court also ordered action against chairman of District South and other concerned officials over negligence.
