PTI govt using NAB for 'political victimisation': Chandio

Updated 09 Aug, 2020

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Central Information Secretary Moula Bux Chandio Saturday claimed that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was using the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for political victimisation in the name of accountability.

"The international community is also admitting that the NAB is being used for political victimisation. The remarks of the Supreme Court are enough to prove the authenticity of this institution. The NAB has become an institution of reprisals," he expressed these views, while addressing a news conference here. He said that the institution that loses its credibility should be shut down.

The PPP leader said that the PTI rule was taking a heavy toll on the people every day.

He said, "Imran Khan lied to the nation about converting Prime Minister's House into a university, giving 10 million jobs to the people, and construction of five million houses, etc."

Chandio said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had also promised the nation that he would commit suicide but would not borrow money.

"Imran Khan did not fulfill the promises, which he had made with the nation before coming into power."

He claimed that the PTI government was a non-serious government and it was functioning with the help of crutches.

Chandio said that the government was in fact lying and it was not giving importance to the political people.

He said that the PTI had not done anything for Kashmir, adding "no country is with us on this issue".

Chandio said that two years had passed of this government, what did it do for Kashmir?

He alleged that the PTI government was facilitating Indian spy.

The PPP leader said that we support The Mutual Legal Assistance (Criminal Matters) Bill, 2020 for the sake of national interest to fulfill certain conditions as listed by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

He said that they would continue their struggle till the establishment of true democracy in the country.
