Buyer bought 60,000 tonnes of wheat as imports continue

HAMBURG: An importer in Pakistan has bought around 60,000 tonnes of wheat in past days to be sourced from optional origins as import purchasing from the country continues, European traders said on Thursday.

Pakistan's government had permitted private sector wheat imports in June to cool domestic wheat and flour prices.

The latest purchase of 11.5% protein content wheat was made at around $233.50 c&f free out for shipment in the first half of September.

This is in addition to purchases of at least 300,000 tonnes of wheat by Pakistani importers reported on July 22.
