ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has exempted sales tax on the import of oxygen gas, cylinders and cryogenic tanks for medical purposes, for a period of three months starting from June 23, 2020.
According to the SRO 649(l)/2020 issued by the FBR here on Monday, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub section (2) of section 13 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, the Federal Government has exempted the import of the said goods specified for medical purposes, from whole of the sales tax.
The said exemption shall apply in respect of the letters of credit opened or goods declaration forms filed on or after June 23, 2020.
