Eid holidays: Punjab records 324 fresh Covid-19 cases, 8 more deaths

LAHORE: There is consistent decline in the spread of novel coronavirus across the province of Punjab, as with 8 more fatalities, during the three Eid holidays, the death toll of Covid-19 in the province has reached to 2148.

As per data made available to Business Recorder, as many as 324 fresh cases of Covid-19 were reported in the province during the last three days taking the total number of positive cases to 93,197.

During the three Eid holidays, 13,164 corona tests were conducted across the province taking the tally of tests so far conducted to 739,253.

During the last 24 hours, only 24 fresh cases were reported with four fatalities across the province.

As per data, so far, 82,562 Covid-19 patients have recovered in the province. In Lahore, out of 47,519 positive carriers, 43,283 recovered with 826 deaths, in Rawalpindi, out of 7385 victims, 5,963 recovered with 360 deaths and in Faisalabad, out of 5,797 patients, 5,310 were recovered with 216 deaths.

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid said that smart lockdown policy introduced by the government and implementation on the standard operating procedures (SOPs) has helped reduced the Covid-19 cases in many districts of Punjab.

She, however, advised the masses to keep social distance for protecting their family members from the coronavirus pandemic. She also appealed the people to avoid spicy food adding over eating and spicy food could pose threat to people's health.
