The Government of Punjab has ended the lockdown in the province which was imposed on the occasion of Eid ul Azha.

In a tweet, the provincial government stated that the lockdown is being ended on midnight August 2 instead of August 5. The government said that decision was taken after encouraging results from smart samples collected from cattle markets.

The notification further said that rallies in solidarity with Muslims in Indian-administered Kashmir on August 5 will be held with SOPS. All educational institutions, wedding halls, restaurants and cinema halls will remain closed, while shops selling daily food items have been allowed to open from 9am till 7pm.

Punjab has recorded 93,197 cases and 2,148 deaths.
