Active Covid-19 cases drop in capital

ISLAMABAD: The active cases of Covid-19 in the federal capital have dropped to 17.14 percent as out of total 14,938 confirmed cases only 2,561 were active as on Tuesday. According to official data, out of total 14,938 cases, 12,377 patients have completely recovered since the spread of the Covid-19 in the country.

The recovery rate of coronavirus patients has risen to 83 percent, the data says. It says that there were 54 more cases of the Covid-19 reported in the capital on Tuesday, as well as one death, while 43 new cases and a death were reported on Monday.

Out of the 54 new cases, 33 were male and 21 were female, it says. Out of 54 cases, five each were reported from the PWD and the NPF, three each from Sihala and Sector G-13, Sector E-11 and Chatha Bakhtwar, two each from Golra Mor, Sector G-9, Sector G-6, Sector F-8, Sector F-7, DHA and Alipur, one each from Tarnol, Korang Town, Khana Pull, Iqbal town, Sector H-8, Sector I-8, Sector I-9, Sector H-13, Sector G-13, Sector G-10, Sector F-11, Bahria Town, Ghouri Town, and Naval Anchorage.

A senior official said that the main reason behind the drop in active cases of the coronavirus was the "smart lockdown" and active awareness campaign about spread of the Covid-19 as well as continuous action against the violators of the standard operating procedures (SOPs). He said the administration had removed majority of illegal cattle markets established in various parts of the city.

The teams of administration also sealed shops for violation of the SOPs and imposed fine against them. The data says that the new cases reported on July 27 were 43, on July 26, 20, July 25, 55, July 24, 44, July 23, 21, July 22, 76, on July 21, 26, on July 20, 23 , July 19, 72, on July 18, 50, on July 17, 52, on July 16, 87, July 15, 113, on July 14, 94, on July 13, 85, on July 12, 96, on July 11, 98, on July 10, 98, on July 9, 81, on July 8, 93, July 7, 63, July 6, 85, on July 5, 117, on July 4, 97, on July 3, 113, on July 2, 170, and on July 1, 137.

On June 30, 132, on June 29, 248, on June 28, 189, on June 27, 255, on June 26, 271, on June 25, 227, on June 24, 264, on June 23, 307, June 22, 250, on June 21, 383, on June 20, 338, on June 19, 304, on June 18, 395, on June 17, 385, and on June 16, 288.
