LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has directed the Home Department to decide appeal of an over hundred year old man Mehdi Khan within one month. The court announced its reserved verdict here Saturday. Mehdi Khan had also requested for his medical checkups. His counsel contended before the court that petitioner is an old man and had submitted an appeal in home department under jail manuals.

The department however failed to dispose of his appeal even after a long span of time. During the proceedings a home department official had accepted that an appeal was pending but assured the court to dispose of the same urgently.
