LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Raja Bashrata has said that the proposal of opening marriage halls after Eid-ul-Azha is under consideration. He expressed these views while responding to a question of an opposition bencher Muneeb-ul-Haq during the Punjab Assembly session on Tuesday which was chaired by Mian Shafi in absence of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker. The Minister told the House that Ministry of Industry is in contact with the Marriage Hall Association and the matter will be resolved after Eid-ul-Azha or Muharram.

Meanwhile, in the absence of the Punjab Food Secretary from the House, the question hour session on the food department was postponed. Opposition bencher Khalil Tahir Sindhu lambasted the government for failing to ensure the presence of the Secretary in the House and added that it seems the government is helplessness in front of the bureaucracy.

Punjab Senior Minister, who also holds the portfolio of the food department, said that the Secretary is busy with the preparation for the meeting of the National Food Security that is convened by the Prime Minister at 5 pm and he has my permission. However, the Minister apologized to Sindhu and the House for the absence of the Secretary.

On the occasion, the House passed a resolution that urged the government to establish psychology centres and classes in educational institutions to educate children on mental health. Later the House was adjourned till Wednesday.
