Sindh to issue smart cards instead of vehicle registration books

The Government of Sindh has decided to issue smart cards instead of vehicle registration books, the implementation of which will begin in two to three weeks.

As per details, provincial minister Mukesh Chawla apprised about the steps taken by the provincial government regarding vehicle registration book and security features number plate.

The provincial minister for excise and taxation said that the smart card would contain all the tax records of the vehicle owner and the vehicle, security features of the vehicles and number plates would also be prepared.

Chawla was talking to media during the inauguration of a new building of Director General Excise and Taxation and Anti-Narcotics at II Chandragar Road, Karachi. On the occasion, Director General Excise and Taxation and Anti-Narcotics Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui gave a briefing to Chawla.

He said in the briefing that a facility center for taxpayers would be set up in the new building soon.

Meanwhile, Mukesh Chawla said that despite the difficult situation of Coronavirus, Sindh Excise and Taxation has achieved the target of more than 100 percent tax collection during the Financial Year 2019-20.
