ISLAMABAD: Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed on Monday said that the fake accounts had been used for buying air tickets for Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and model Ayyan Ali, who is accused in money laundering case.

Reacting to the press conference of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, he said Bilawal wanted to raise his stature by making allegations against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

He said that the son of former president Asif Ali Zardari was talking about corruption, while his entire family was known for taking commissions and extortion. While exposing the PPP, he said the development funds of Sindh were transferred to fake bank accounts and Surrey Palace.

The stolen money from the national exchequer was being used for sacrificial animals and organisation of birthday parties, he added. Saeed said that a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) was the part of the parliament, which was constituted to probe into fake bank accounts.

"The state-owned entity, the Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM), was a profitable organisation between 2007 and 2008 but it went into severe financial crisis during Asif Ali Zardari's era. These people have always offered to hand over the PSM to those who purchased PSM. They destroyed the national entities first, and later offered at buy one get one free."

He strongly criticised the Sindh government, saying that one of its ministers claimed to distribute ration among 300,000 needy people but its statement found in contradiction with another lawmaker.

The PPP has adopted a stance that nobody will die of famine, despite the whole world was claiming for more deaths from the food shortage as compared to the pandemic.

The minister said that Bilawal Bhutto, who became a leader through a chit, has neither been a party worker nor has he had any struggle, adding that the PPP chairman leaves the assembly floor when he gets the mic to speak.

Murad further challenged the PPP chairman to for a debate at any forum. "It was a matter of record that the worst performance in the coronavirus pandemic was shown by the Sindh government," he said, adding that when the epidemic spread, all the governments were working to make the people safe, while the Sindh government was working to save the corruption of Zardari.

The federal minister went on to say that by the grace of almighty Allah, Kashmir issue was discussed twice in the United Nations Security Council after 54 years. "Those who claimed to take the Kashmir issue seriously handed over the Kashmir Committee to Maulvi Sahib [Fazlur Rehman] in political dealings," Murad Saeed said.
