National institutions: Government all set to bring reforms, claims Shibli

ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Shibli Faraz on Saturday said the government is all set to bring reforms in all national institutions.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Saturday evening, the Minister said opposition can't be successful to distract the government from its top agenda.

The minister said institutions had already been ruined during previous governments and now this government can not let the corrupt practices continue.

Speaking on the occasion, the prime minister's inspection team chairman Ahmad Yar Hiraj said under the reforms agenda of government, inspection commission has completed 24 inspections during 18 months.

He said reports of these inspections have been sent to the prime minister and actions are being taken against the culprits involved in corruption and embezzlement.

The PM's inspection team chairman said the government is paying the cost of corrupt practices that have been committed by the employees of different institutions; however, previous governments remained silent over it.

Ahmad Yar Hiraj said recommendations regarding reforms in AGPR are also being sent to the Prime Minister.

He said FIA has also been directed to take action against the AGPR employees who were involved in malpractices after evaluating the details of their assets. He expressed hope that within few months, AGPR performance will improve and its system will become more transparent. Replying to a question Shibli Faraz said due to the prudent policies of the incumbent government, we have handled the Covid-19 effectively and now flattening of curve is being observed in the cases.

Replying to another question pertaining to the economy, the minister said IMF has appreciated our initiatives and nation will hear good news soon.
