ISLAMABAD: Justice Qazi Faez Isa's wife on Thursday visited the Federal Board of Revenue's (FBR's) offices and submitted documents related to the London properties and tax returns.

The sources said the documents, Sarina Isa Khoso, the wife of the apex court judge, submitted, pertain to her income from the American School, Karachi; property in Clifton, Karachi; details of agriculture land gifted by her father in Dera Murad Jamali and Naseerabad; money sent abroad through the Standard Chartered Bank; the income tax paid, and the tax returns filed.

The sources shared that she had informed the FBR that her husband had nothing to do with the properties in London.

She also told the officials that the State Bank of Pakistan had details of all the transactions.

A 10-member larger bench, headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial on June 19, 2020, quashed the Presidential Reference, and abated the show cause proceedings against Justice Qazi Faez Isa before the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC).

However, seven judges including Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik, Justice Faisal Arab, Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel, Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin Ahmed referred the tax matter of Justice Qazi Faez's wife and children to the FBR, while three judges - Justice Maqbool Baqar, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Yahya Afridi - did not agree with the majority decision.
