Six electrocuted to death after city receives light rain

  • Electricity supply to many areas was disrupted while in some localities people were without power for 12 hours

(Karachi) At least six people including two children were electrocuted to death in rain-related incidents, media has reported.

As per details, the metropolis experienced light rain on Wednesday in which six persons died of electrocution in different city areas. One of the incidents was reported on Karsaz Road where electricity wires fell on a motorcyclist, killing him on the spot.

Similarly, a labourer working at a house in Model Colony died after an electric wire fell on him. Another labourer in Karimabad was electrocuted while he was working near Darul Islam Mosque. The rescue team said he died on the spot. His body has been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Meanwhile, as soon as light rain hit the city, electricity supply to many areas including Landhi, Malir, Baldia, Orangi Town, North Nazimabad, North Karachi, Surjani Town, Quaidabad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar and PECHS was disrupted. In some localities, people were without power for more than 12 hours.
