Punjab to give special allowance to Rescue 1122 officials

LAHORE: The Punjab government has approved to grant special allowance to both the officials of Rescue 1122 who are performing their duties and those who embraced martyrdom in the fight against novel coronavirus.

In this regard, the Punjab government issued a notification on Sunday which stated that the special allowance ranging from Rs 4 million to Rs 8 million would be given to the Rescue 1122 officials from 1st of April. According to a spokesperson for Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, the Punjab government will be giving special allowance and martyrdom package to the Rescue 1122 officials in the wake of novel coronavirus. He said the officers and staffers of the Punjab Emergency Service performing corona-duties will be given honorarium equal to their basic pay. He added that the officers and staffers of the Rescue 1122 being deputed on their duties will continue to receive special allowance till the eradication of the corona pandemic. He said the members embracing martyrdom in the fight against the virus and working up to grade 16, their heirs will be given Rs 4 million as financial assistance while the families of officers working in grade-17 or above will be given Rs 8 million.
