Punjab reports highest number of coronavirus deaths

  • With 60 more deaths reported, province has lost 1495 people.

With 1495 deaths reported so far, Punjab has recorded the highest number of deaths due to coronavirus.

On Monday, the province reported 1,365 new cases taking total cases tally to 68,308. Lahore reported 33,946 cases, Nankana Sahib 261, Kasur 504, Shiekhupura 894, Rawalpindi 5,554 and Jhelum reported 307 cases.

While, Attock recorded 272, Chakwal 79, Gujranwala 2,447, Sialkot 1,827, Narowal 168, and Gujrat 1,776.

The province also reported 60 deaths. The death toll has climbed to 1495.

So far, the province has tested 433,000 people. Provincial spokesperson Musarrat Cheema took to Twitter and said that Punjab's testing capacity stands at 12,000 now.

"19580 patients have also recovered from the virus," she said.
