Accountability court summons Wajid Zia on Feb 22

ISLAMABAD: An accountability court of Islamabad Monday summoned Wajid Zia, Additional Director of Federal Investigation Agency and head of the joint investigation team (JIT) constituted by the Supreme Court in the Panama Papers case, on February 22.

Accountability court judge Mohammad Bashir issued the directive on the request of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor who pleaded that Zia's presence with original record regarding London-based Avenfield properties owned by the Sharif family in London was compulsory for recording statements of two witnesses via video link from London on that date.

The court would record statements of the witnesses from London in the supplementary reference against the Sharif family regarding Avenfield Apartments on February 22.
