Supreme Court (SC) spokesperson rebuffed Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah's statement that the Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar (CJP) wants to see Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) win the next general elections.

The spokesperson deemed Sanaullah's statement as 'totally false' and 'concocted'. The statement further said that SC denies Sanaullah's statement regarding CJP, local media reported.

Sanaullah had said this after appearing before the court regarding clean water case on Sunday. He said, ''Mian Saqib had expressed his wish to see PML-N win the next elections. We hope this wish of his comes true.”

Govt believes in freedom of media: Rana Sana

Sana further said that it was a misconception that his party criticises courts decisions. He claimed that Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif had appeared before the court because he respected the judiciary.

A suo motu case had been taken by the SC pertaining to the supply of unclean water to Punjab’s provincial capital and the dumping of polluted water into River Ravi. CM Shehbaz Sharif had also appeared before the court and had been granted the sought time by Sharif  to address the issues of the supply of polluted water.
