NA committee on IT and Telecommunication meets

ISLAMABAD: The meeting of National Assembly Standing Committee on Information Technology and Telecommunication was held here on Thursday under the chairmanship of Capt. (Retd) Muhammad Safdar, MNA.

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication tabled the status of previous recommendations given by the Standing Committee, but the Committee directed that in the next meeting all the heads of the Cellular companies must attended the committee meeting.

The committee was briefed about the status of cell phone Sims, Internet 3G and 4G internet service and installed “Antina Tower” across the country.

The Committee considered the proposed Public Sector Development Project (PSDP) for the financial year 2018-19 of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication and its attached departments/organizations.

After thorough consideration the Committee unanimously approved the proposed PSDP for the financial year 2018-19.

Members who attended the meeting included MNAs Mian Muhammad Farooq, Ms Farhana Qamar, Ms Zahra Wadood Fatemi, Engineer Dawar Khan Kundi and Ch. Muhammad Tufail besides the senior officials from the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication and its attached departments/organizations.
