UK Premier's special representative calls on Sindh Governor
KARACHI: Special Representative of British Prime Minister for Pakistan and Afghanistan, Gareth Bayley and British Deputy High Commissioner, Ms. Elin Burns on Wednesday called on Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair at Governor House here.
They discussed the matters of mutual interests, investment opportunities in Sindh, bilateral trade and economic activities, said a statement.
Talking to the British Envoy, the Sindh Governor said that British parliamentarians and ministers can play a vital role to highlight true image of Pakistan across the World because now, contrary to the prevailing impression, the situation in Pakistan is better.
Muhammad Zubair said that the United Kingdom is an important trade partner of Pakistan but further promotion of bilateral trade is need of the hour.
He said that the social-economic, trade and commercial activities as well as foreign investment are being gradually increased in Sindh due to improved law and order situation in the province, which is, he said is a result of the steps taken by the government.
He advised that the British investors can get good returns through investment in agriculture, power and infrastructure development sectors and the government will extend every possible support in this regard.
The Sindh Governor said that the travel advisory for Pakistan is needed to be revised after improvement of law and order situation in Pakistan and the Western World should pay attention to it.
He said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), is indeed a game changer for the entire region.
Talking to the Sindh Governor, Gareth Bayley said that Pakistan is an important trade partner of the United Kingdom.
He said that the role of Pakistan in the cause of global peace is very significant.
The British Envoy said that British nationals of Pakistan origin are playing commendable role in construction and development of the United Kingdom.
