CS directs to focus moving population for achieving better results in anti polio campaigns
PESHAWAR: Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Azam Khan has directed Deputy Commissioners for making continuous efforts to achieve best results in polio eradication campaigns focusing population moving from Afghanistan and other high risks zones of Pakistan.
He was chairing a meeting of Provincial Task Force for Polio Eradication Immunization here Wednesday that among others was attended by federal team led by Senator Ayesha Raza Farooq, Commissioner Peshawar Fakhar Alam, Secretary Health, Abid Majeed and other concerned officials.
Meeting on the occasion reviewed district progress against NEAP for Polio Eradication targets. The performance of districts was appreciated, and necessary instructions were issued for further improvements.
Speaking on the occasion, CS thanked National EOC and partners for supporting in a cause that benefits children of KP. He urged Deputy Commissioners for continuous efforts to achieve the best results with special focus on the population moving from Afghanistan and other high risks zones of Pakistan. He assured the visiting team that general election would not affect their attention from the noble cause of polio eradication.
Senator Ayesha Raza Farooq appreciated CS, Secretary Health, Divisional and District Administration and commitment of frontline workers for the progress made so far. She pointed out that of the total 8 polio cases reported in 2017, five were from refusals families and said that it underline the need to convince these families to vaccinate their children.
