He directed the concerned authorities to complete all the schemes within the given budget and stipulated time. He was presiding over the second meeting of the FATA Development Committee held at Governor’s House, Peshawar.
Additional Chief Secretary, Sikandar Qayyum, secretary of social sectors, planning and development, Asghar Qureshi; Principal Secretary to Governor, Munir Azam and the other concerned senior officials of the FATA Secretariat attended the meeting.
The Governor was briefed in detail on pace of progress of various developmental projects in FATA.
It was particularly mentioned that Rs. 1302.977 million have been incurred on the schemes which were announced by the Governor under the Education Emergency plan. Such schemes also includes free of cost provision of text books to the students of first to 12th class; sponsorship extended to deserving students and construction of the Cadet College, Wana.
The Governor while speaking on this occasion also directed Secretary Education to further streamline the monitoring system, improve the output of the examination results and to make more inputs to the education policy in line with the ongoing FATA merger initiatives.
Similarly an amount of Rs. 981.064 million were approved for implementation on construction schemes of roads and bridges as well as various rehabilitation projects in the communication sector whereas another amount of Rs. 311.110 million were sanctioned to materialize various schemes of Public Health Engineering and other water supply projects.
The Committee also approved an amount of Rs.397.699 million to implement various schemes of tourism attraction in FATA.
While stressing the importance of maintaining transparency in implementation process of all the projects, the Governor further asked the concerned authorities to ensure timely completion of the projects and keep him up-dated on pace of progress of each project on monthly basis.
