ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed Sunday joined Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) after parting ways with his party PML-Q.

Mushahid Hussain Syed called on former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in Jati Umra, Lahore and announced his decision of joining PML-N.

He vowed to work with former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for the strengthening of democracy in the country.

A spokesman of Mushahid said he has sent his resignation (from basic membership of PML-Q) to President (PML-Q) Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

Mushahid, who heads the Senate Standing Committee on Defence, is considered an expert in the fields of defence and foreign affairs, as well as a strong advocate on Pak-China relations.
