Addressing the ceremony, Mayor of Karachi Wasim Akhtar said that guiding youths in the right direction was a big challenge and time has come that we initiate a full scale awareness campign in our schools and other educational institutions about child abuse and harassment.

He said that we need to save our children from different kinds of drugs and gutkha and every citizens has this responsibility to promote healthy and positive activities in our society.

Pakistan Academic Consortium did a great job by bringing energetic and purposeful youth on its plateform to bring improvement to various important sectors, he said.

On the occasion, The Mayor was informed about the success of 5th All Pakistan Educational Expo held in Karachi recently through a presentation.

The Mayor said the consortium of youth who are from different fields provided excellent opportunity to them to serve the nation and society and bring improvement in especially education standard in government schools and to create awareness about environment, cleanliness and tree plantation.

He said that everyone of us should have to take this responsibility if we want to bring a change in present conditions.

He said that the KMC is ready to provide all possible help and support to the academic consortium in its endeavors to improve the educational standard in schools and colleges and to create awareness about these important things among citizens of Karachi.

In the end, the Mayor gave away awards to the best performers in different fields and the Pakistan Education Consortium presented award to Mayor Wasim Akhtar for his services for the city of Karachi.
