Pak-Iran close relationship can contribute to stability of region

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Defence Production and Science and Technology, Rana Tanveer Hussain Tuesday met the Iranian Defence Minister Brig Gen Amir Hatami and held discussion on the issues of mutual interest.

Earlier, on arrival at Imam Khomeini International Airport, the minister and his delegation were received by Iran’s Deputy Minister for International Affairs, Brig General M Ahadi, a press release said.

Referring to the close brotherly relations between Pakistan and Iran, Rana Tanveer Hussain highlighted the great potential which existed between the two countries in various sectors, including the defence.

Reciprocating, the Iranian defence minister emphasized that close relationship between Pakistan and Iran could contribute to the stability of the region.

He also called for the greater exchange between defence establishments of the two countries and to explore opportunities for cooperation in defence industries.

Rana Tanveer also visited the Export Promotion Centre of Iranian Ministry of Defence, where he was briefed about the potential of Iranian defence industry.
