ABAD welcomes SC verdict for providing relief

KARACHI: Chairman, Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD), Arif Yousuf Jeewa has highly appreciated the decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan to allow construction of buildings up to six floors in Karachi.

In a statement here on Monday, he said the decision of the Apex court would have far-reaching impact on the construction industry in the city.

This would help meet the demand for housing units in the city and create many jobs.

He was also hopeful that Supreme Court will revisit the decision of ban on high-rise buildings in this mega city as there was a big gap in demand and supply of housing units.

He recalled that the construction activities in Karachi had come to a halt and more than 70 allied industries were also facing serious problems due to ban on construction of high-rise here .
